I grew up on my parents’ organic dairy and sheep farm at Quainton, Bucks. I did a three year Rural Estate Management course at the Royal Agricultural College (now University). Following a stint in the farm sales department of Strutt & Parker in Salisbury I returned to Oxfordshire to start professional work with CRJ Anstey Chartered Surveyors and qualified with the RICS in 1991 and the CAAV in 1993. That business was expanded into Abbott Anstey Reader and Dreweatt Neate before I set up my own business in partnership with Christopher Anstey in 2004. Robert Serjeant Rural Surveyors was established in 2010.

The new firm is now run from the farm office back on the family farm at Quainton from which I continues to service my clients using the principles gained through this experience. At the forefront of these is a desire to offer a reliable professional service whilst growing personal relationships with all of my clients in order to tailor advice to the requirements of their individual business.
